I bought a ricordea a few weeks back and have been struggling with placement. I feel both mushrooms may be in too strong of lightning. I’ve moved them both lower, and the rhodactis seems to open the same amount while some of the “bubbles” on the ricordea seemed to shrink a bit where it was more shaded. Any suggestions? I’ve also considered that there may be too much flow

I turned the pumps and filters off for about an hour to apply f-Aptasia and they didn’t seem to open up at all. The ricordea actually seemed to be flooding one of its sides in toward the polyp

Mine are happy below 150 par, medium to low flow.
They can move if unhappy, but aren't that finicky.
Are your water parameters ok?

My water parameters are almost perfect for the first time ever! Hopefully they’re still getting used to the tank. It’s only been about a week for the rhodactis

Mine seem to enjoy the bottom of the tank. I’ve had these for a little over a week.

When I moved mine lower, it seemed less full in a sense. The bubbles got smaller exposing the color underneath where it was getting indirect light

From what I’ve read and was told at my LFS, place at bottom. I’m new to all this. My whole tank is nothing but soft corals. My parameters are all good. I did put a new Kessil a80 Tuna Blue. Everything in my tank is benefiting more with the new light. I don’t know what my par levels are. I’d say I’m running more blue than white.

I have a lot, all over the tank. Even up near the SPS. I have actually placed up there to prevent entrusting corals from reaching each other.

They do well in all types of lighting.

Perfect good to know! I planned to do something similar with my mushrooms and a purple porites I wanted to grow toward the top
