Good evening guys,

I got this Ricordea or at least the guy said it was a ricordia on Sunday. It had been neglected for the past couple of weeks. The guy had it at the bottom of the tank with a Kessil A160WE. This is how it looked when picked it up and it still looks the same way no improvement at all that I can tell. Is there anything I can do to help it get healthier.

Sorry about the picture quality. Just realized the color can't be seen. It's mostly bleached with only a few spots of orange

A bit hard to see the pic(kind of really can't tell much at all) but not much you can do but wait and see.

Mine tend to like a medium/low flow and indirect light(off to side a little)

Give it some time and feed the tank. I have mine a third off the bottom with full light. I feed LRF reef frenzy and reef nutrition oyster feast r.o.e. And roti feast for the corals

I've been feeding my corals Coral Frenzy. Hopefully that's good enough for the corals. No one sells LRS reef frenzy where I live.

I have found bromide additions help my ricordea and lps. Even make my ricordea multiply.
Most salt mixes leave bromide out because of the negative effects the minority of ozone users cause.
Manganese seems to help a little with there color.

Ricordia will also eat Mysis if that is easier to obtain.
I do feed my fish frozen mysis cubes once every few days but I haven't done spot feeding on the ricordea. I just spot feed the corals coral frenzy.

Yeah, if you just place some mysis on their disks, they fold up and swallow it surprisingly quickly. If I want mine to grow and multiply, I just feed them mysis weekly.

Can you tell me the exact name of the product that you use. Couldn't really find it online. Thanks

Ok cool I'll do that. Thank you

I also keep mine on the bottom of the tank off to the side, medium to low flow. Multiply like crazy. And I also target feed them mysis once or twice a week.

Reefgrow is the product line that I use for all of my salt and elemental additions.
I just don't recommend the salt or bromide if you use ozone.
It can be deadly. If you do not use ozone it is safe and just like the ocean. Well ok nothing is just like the ocean but they at least try to get close.

I keep mine in bottom of tank (on sand or just above) but they still get quite a bit of flow. They expand the most/look best when flow is lower or non-existent. For this tank I started with 25 I glued up probably two years ago and probably have 100 (mostly 2-3+ mouth) or more now making up 5 medium rock colonies and a couple smaller ones. Never have felt the need to feed them directly although they get food when I feed the tank mysis, calanus etc. and sometimes dried plankton. I've kept them for years and even in mediocre tank conditions they generally grow/multiply like weeds. Also keep about a dozen yuma the same way which aren't quite as prolific. None of them need a lot of light but ricordia looks its best in the morning/evening when my light ramp is heavy blue actinic. Daylight they are just kinda washed out.

When I zoom in on your mushroom it does look like a recordea I would say that it is. Just slow the flow when you feed or shut it off the food will get to it.

Thanks for the help guys. Every day it's getting a little more color but it still has like 90% more to go.
