Well, i have the RKE w/ net, and my ISP is ATT U-Verse.

With the profilux i needed a static IP, as i know i will also need for this as well.

The only way to get a static IP with Uverse is by having them come out and do a service call, and install some block on the "gateway" and it gives me 8 static IP's and cost $15 a month.

Has anyone hooked a controller that has a net connection to uverse ISP without having to pay extra?

do you need a static , no. there are things that can be done around that in order to achive your goals. there are a couple DNS hosting company that provide domain names and software to monitor you changing ip. there are company that do that like no-ip.com

Are you looking to just connect to your RKE via ip? or do you want have a domain name? If it is to connect than all you need to do is login to your U Verse router and setup port forward to that ip of your RKE. This is the safest way. I do not own one, but I sure I can help you set it up.

Ardo

alright, im going to run some cable tomorrow, and we can revisit this.

sounds like i finally found people willing to help.

Those profilux forum guys are like talking to a brick wall...

The RKE-NET is setup to use DHCP. If you want to keep its IP from changing on startup, you could always tell the router to assign a specific IP to the MAC address of the NET module.

I don't have AT&T either, but it's a standard option on most routers these days.

I see, you're having problems on the Uverse router. LOL

Well, Portforward is a good resource for what Ardo mentioned earlier. Uverse uses the 2wire brand, correct? They should have your model router there in case you want to read up a bit tonight.

i sold it...too $$$ to do what i need it to do.

$300 for ever 6 outlets....too rich for my blood...

I like $90 for 4...

I have U Verse and can help with it. I'll PM on how to login to your router. Also watching Lost :nerd:

Seems like everyone is jumping on the RKE bandwagon. Wonder how much more I'd like it than the AC3?

Junior I am running the RKE with the Net Module. It is fairly easy to setup once you get it on the network. I installed dyndns and its application on my laptop. That gives you a url to access your RKE.NET remotely. I then logged into my router and used port forwarding on port 80 assigned to the RKE.NET. For some reason I will still having DHCP problems so I assigned a static IP Address to my .NET a little higher in range. It works like a charm now. If you get stuck I can help aswell.

lol, between LOST and this my brain hurts....

ill get the cable tomorrow, and then we can get this thing all figured out.

pffft.....cake walk.

NOTHING like trying to get the Profilux W-lan.

Seems to be all up and running.

Only bummer is not being able to log in from a Mac, but no big deal.

Now i gotta figure out all the cool stuff about it...to DA forum i go!

Thanks for all the help guys.

well that and accessing it remotely....i guess i spoke too soon...im too tired to get it going tonight, i guess tomorrow is another day.

Did you setup the port forwarding in your router? Once that is setup you should be able to use your routers IP to get in.
