I've had my tank running for a couple years now and I've never been remotely happy with my rockscaping. The corner shape makes it a bit odd. Today I finally went to Lowes, bought a bunch of nylon rods, marine epoxy, a diamond tipped hole drill bit, and have since been staring at my rock... uninspired. Anyone have any advice? Anyone else have a corner tank with photos?

Try googling fantasy landscape. Bonsai, floating island from avatar and final fantasy, over hang cliff. With a bit of creativity and immagination, possibilities are endless. Oh and Do Not follow the norm of stacking your rock like the greatwall of china. Gl

The problem is that I don't have creativity or imagination. Otherwise I wouldn't be here asking [emoji4]

But your post was shockingly helpful. Thanks!

I've been up since around 3am.... examining rocks and trying to get inspired. This single three rock tower is the result of my work. One drill hole, one nylon rod and BAM! How tragic is that? This will be a mind numbing, slow process, but at least I have a couple hundred pounds of rock to confuse and confound me [emoji4]

The second rock in the "tower" looks exactly like the Millennium Falcon... or maybe it's just early.

This has been difficult mostly because of my lack of vision, but also because a couple of rocks I love, that have star polyps attached, are so oddly shaped and can't be removed. Such is life. Here it is now. My primary goals were to include those odd rocks, not have a single rock touching the back or sides, and look reasonably appealing.
I'll take another pic once the star polyps have extended and lights are on. Should look better then.

Added another bit... think I'm finished now. I'm still not loving it, but it's LOTS better insomuch as current now is free to flow 360deg around the rock work. This was the primary goal.

I took a lg piece of my live rock and drilled out holes big enough for frag plugs. Was worried the rock might break apart but with the appropriate bit it was crazy easy and didn't crack or break apart at all.

I Think you did a fantastic job!!!

One thing I would personally change - remove or replace the top donut looking rock. It looks out of place and smaller rocks tend to look better up top, That and you'll be able to make a cool effect. It took me alot of playing around with my scape to get what I wanted. I ended up breaking the less desirable pieces of rock in hopes of getting some cooler shapes - mostly got rubble but I am happy with my scape.

LOVE your rock work!!! I agree with you concerning that one rock and didn't want it there, but it has BY FAR more pink coralline algae than the rest combined. I'll leave it there for awhile. I really appreciate your advice/honesty!! Here's a couple other photos... can't really tell but it's pretty pink.
Be sure to post a build thread on yours! I wanna see how it goes!
