Have two fish a tang and a clown that look like they have ashy skin if that makes any sense ? I noticed the tang with it few weeks ago but eats good but noticed it getting worse and seems to be spreading to other fish what should I do

Get a separate tank setup asap or some plastic tubs because you're going to need them due to the medications that 1 of the more experienced will suggest. You're dealing with something pretty nasty I hate to say. Also be prepared to remove all fish and for your tank to sit fallow.

If it looks like ashy skin it's a high possibility you are dealing with velvet. Will definitely need to put in QT asap and start treating. @Humblefish has some great treatment plans for most any desease.

I could be wrong but I believe brook is mainly found on clowns which is why I went with velvet because of the tang.

Either way let's get some pics will help with identification.

Here's some pics

Do you have one of the tang as well

That looks more to me like brook but I am not the best at ID from photos. Are the fish displaying any other symptoms? Heavy breathing? Swimming into the flow or hiding from light?

They eat good when I walk in from work all be at corner of tank ready to eat I be leave they have facal recognition they don't do that for my girlfriend

I may be wrong but I believe if it was velvet... they would be dead already. Tangs had this for a few weeks

It looked like lateral line on the tang at one time but but might just been me
