Help with Six Line Wrasse

Hi All,

Need some help with my Six Line.

I came home from vacation on Tuesday. Fish have been in QT for Ich Treatment for 32 days. The Six Line has noticeable tears in his tail and his overall color is blotchy. I have started removal of the copper treatment with Carbon and WC, as I was on day 32. No signs of Ich or issues with the other fish in QT. I have not seen any territorial issues, fighting or nipping going on. Wonder if I am missing a different underlying issue. He is eating but does look thin. I did have someone over looking the tanks and feeding as usual. Thoughts? My next step was to start Prazipro does tomorrow or Friday.

Keep an eye on him - could be bacterial, but could be nothing. Mine broke out in blotchy a couple of weeks ago, but it came back to normal on its own. A photo might help, either way.

I'd like to see a picture, but it sounds as if the 6 line has developed a bacterial infection.

I agree, it looks like a secondary bacterial infection. Since you are done with the copper, I would finish pulling as much as you can and then start a course of antibiotics. I would probably use the triple threat - kanaplex +metroplex +furan-2 ; for at least 10 days. Maybe 12-14 if it's still symptomatic after 10. You'll do a 25% water change and redose all three every 48 hours.

An acriflavine bath could help as well.
