I have a Red Sea rsk 300 skimmer. At first I put it at middle of the recommended water height. But it would produce wet white bubbles that would fill the cup in a minute. So I raised it up just under the marking (see pic). I have the valve all the way open, meaning I turned the knob all the way in the negative direction. The video show what kind of bubbles the skimmer is making now. The cup still fills up relatively. Any suggestions?

Is it new? try taking the collection cup off for a day or two while it is running until the bubbles calm down. I have had to do this in the past on a new skimmer.

Just let it run as DC said.
They take a bit to “slime up” and you will be shifting a lot. I say give it a few days, 4, and then add the cup to collect the skim mate.

Yes the whole system is new. I have had the skimmer on intermittently for a couple of days. I have two cleaner shrimp so I am only giving them a few pellets a day.

I don’t see any way to regulate the air flow on the intake

skimmers are so expensive that i think im gonna contact a chinese company and have some built. After all their just plastic shapes. Prolly 6 bucks in parts without the pump.

Hi I have the same skimmer, it’s great. This is what I would do if the system is new and has not previously had a skimmer I would make up 5 litres of salt water and just let the cup fill up a couple of times empty and replace with fresh salt water and keep salinity stable. I have noticed with my rsk 300 is sometimes there is just something in the water that needs to be skimmed out for it to settle especially after water treatments. Have the adjustment knob open fully and let the cup fill up empty and repeat.
