I'm new to sumps and I bought a 75 gallon tank with an over flow that is drilled in the tank and looks like a snorkel. I have everything running and good. I am not new to reef tanks, just new to sumps. I have a 1/4" hose going in the top of the the overflow to help with the noise but I don't know how far to push it in. The further I push it in, the slower the overflow works. Is there a spot or length I need the hose to be in the overflow tube and outside the top of the tube to be? I also have a ton over bubbles going into my sump. Is this all ok? And does anyone have any tips? I can post pictures if needed.

Look up a reverse durso for the overflow in the sump it will help with the bubbles and noise

I have researched that. I am eventually going to go with that set up. I'm just wondering if all the bubbles are bad going into my sump. No bubbles are getting to the return pump because of the bubble trap. And what is going on with the flow rate when I move the air hose in and out?
