Help with SPS newbie

So I have a piece of SPS growing doing well has one arm that has I believe cyano growing on it. It was there when I got it from the nice gentleman and two other arms has very small spots.

is this the type of thing that you are recommended to cut off, or will it fix itself naturally ? I’m thinking either it dies turns white and encrusts over the dead stick or will spread and kill the entire frag?

I would at least clean it off. Use a Turkey baster or a soft bristle tooth brush.

You can cut it off or leave it. It will entrust over it eventually.
