How's it going. My name is Scott, I use to have a 75g tank as my first one, that was already setup when I purchased, than upgraded to a 150g, and with the help of Angela, Bill, and some others on the board, sorry I forgot your names, been a few years, they helped set it up. I hated to have to get rid of it, but I moved, and couldnt bring it with me.

I am now living with my fiance in Antioch, and finally got her to let me get back into it, and get a 120g for me and her 2 sons. I bought a 120g tank with a home made stand that wasnt finished. It came with a light that has 2 2x250w mh, and 4 t5s, a uv, 2 korolias, heater, return pump, and a 55g for a sump. The tank is reef ready. The 55g sump is too wide, so I need to trade it for a smaller tank for sump. And I need to get a skimmer.

I have the tank and stand in the house, but I didnt like stand, so I started building one out of 2x4s, and 2x6s. I got the design from the other reef site. Its not finished, it needs the center support peice screwed in, and plywood cut, and trim put on. I am not a cabinet builder or close to one. So I am needing to see if anyone on is here is good with these, and would mind taking a look at what i have, and seeing if they could help me finish it, as Im just trying to make it simple, but sturdy with no issues.

I am also needing help with the plumbing of the tank, as in help with setting it up. Just want to get it setup right the first time, that way I can start putting water, rock, and sand in there to get it cycling, and hopefully ready before Christmas for the boys.

I also plan on joining the membership.

Thanks
Scott

Welcome back!!!

I have a 120 as well 4x2x2. I run a 50 gallon breeder as my sump. I will be glad to help with the plumbing but I won't be of much help with the stand. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. The link to my build thread is in my signature if ya wanna check it out.

I too have a 120 (4x2x2) I could only fit a 20L sump and a standard 10g fuge under my tank. I wanted to do two 40B but they wouldn't fit.

Thanks. Mitch is going to help me with the stand. I will def need help with the plumbing after the stand is finished, hopefully saturday. Im going to have to trade the 55 I have for a 40 to use for my sump. As my stand is only 48.5 long

i have a 40 breeder i could sale you. it brand new. PM me if interested

Here are a few pics I found of my stand I built for my 29g FW. I'm almost positive this thing could hold up to a nuclear blast. I over built it on purpose. I added the covering and trim. The trim was a PITA to cut. I'm an IT guy, not Bob Villa. After 2 trips to home depot I finally figured it out.
