I'm in the process of building a stand and sump for my tank. One issue I'm having with the current sump and stand i don't have enough space for an in sump skimmer. I have a hob skimmer on the sump everything works how it's supposed to but i bought a bigger skimmer and it's a in sump skimmer. I don't have space for it. The tallest thing i have in the sump is a nyos Torq reactor. How can I figure out how much clearance do i need to take the media reactor out comfortably without any hassling.

I would personally take out the media reactor. It’s overkill. If you want carbon or gfo running in your tank purchase a small nylon bag place the media in the bag and put it in an area of mod. flow in your sump. :)

I run bio pellets on bottom and gfo up top. My tank actually runs great with GFO running in media reactor. I tried the hang on and doesn't run as efficient as in the reactor tbh.
