Help with T5 combo

i have two hydra 26 hd in an aquatic life hybrid fixture. Currently I run two blue plus and two coral plus. Its way too white in my tank and want to drop the two coral plus but im unsure what to switch out to. I was thinking maybe a true actinic and a purple plus. Or should i just do both true actinic with my two blue plus?

I asked this same question a while back, and someone recommended to do all blue + and let my kessils fill in the white.

Pull the two coral plus out and just run the blue plus. If you like the color of that, but want more blue, then consider adding one blue plus and one actinic. If you find the blue plus a little too blue, try adding one blue plus and just one coral plus or one actinic and one coral plus. A purple plus may be fine and is probably less white than the coral plus bulb. I run just 4 blue plus bulbs, as I don't care for the purple plus, and even just one coral plus bulb out of 4 is whiter than I like. I don't run an actinic, as I use my leds to get that "pop" that an actinic can provide. Since you have leds, you can use them to adjust your tank color. But because of the diffuse nature of t5s, just one white t5 bulb can tend to dominate the overall tank color.

Thanks guys! I do like mostly blue so ill go all blue plus for now and use my led for white if needed. Glad i didnt go for the purple. 2 coral plus has just been way too much and i cant stand how white it is even with my whites on the hydra turned to 10%

Yes, the t5 diffused light, whites in particular, will tend to overwhelm the blues in a tank to our human eyes.

Replacing the coral+ with true actinics will be a lot more visually pleasing than all blue +

I'm running 3 blue plus and a purple plus. Might switch out to a true actinic and 3 blue plus.

I like the Giesemann super actinic's more than the ATI true actinic's
But... that's JMO


The Red Sea 22K "Reef Spec" t5 is and awesome bulb too.
