Hey Guys!

im new to the hobby and am setting up a 30 gallon tank. , im wondering what you guys prefer in terms of Hang on back filtration, what ill need and what you guys recommend equipment wise, im planning on mainly keeping soft corals with a few SPS.

If a sump is totally out of the question than IMO your next best option would be a good quality 3-5 tray canister filter.
Of course everything is contingent on your budget.

If you're set on HOB filtration I would recommend an AquaClear; at least a model 70 (300g/hr) if not bigger. You would probably still need some sort of power head for additional flow.

I'd get a Reef Octopus Classic 100 HOB Skimmer, that outta do ya.

With setting up my wife's 29g, I went through 3 skimmers and finally, I bought a Aquamaxx HOB-1.
Although it seems too large for this size of tank, it's fantastic !

The Cadlights PLS-50 WAS JUNK and the Tune 9001worked,........just ok.

Thanks guys! I've got Lots of stuff to look into haha, do you know much about the tunze 9004
