Only thing worse is spending even more on a large tank and selling it to upgrade to a smaller one and losing even more money lol. With the number of persons constantly upgrading to larger systems, not sure where there are regrets. Often size is based on ones budget-desire- space available and stocking plans. Its a matter of preference with no set criteria desired.
Nothing worse than pouring $400-600 into a smaller tank and wanting to upgrade to have to sell it for $200 or less.
We apparently just have different experiences with local people biting off more then they can chew. Forums are a bit biased in general with people naturally posting about being excited with new purchases and while there are some posts about downsizing here and there or getting out it’s simply not fun to post about.
I try and ask when people are selling their tanks why, and as I said for many the reality of a large tank was too much. Again this clearly isn’t applicable to many but I would say even the owner of BRS basement tank was nothing but problems which wasn’t helped going that big and Revs tank as well. Both would probably have had better results with smaller systems. But hey, the American way is bigger is better and that mentality isn’t going anywhere.
