I have had my existing 95L for 4 months but would like to upgrade to 350L tank with a sump. My existing one is an all-in-one with rear chambers - I will probably keep this as a QT tank.
Please can you give me any advise as to how I go about transferring everything to the new tank - i.e. existing rock / sand etc. I will need to get extra live rock so do I cycle new rock in the new tank first and then add mine after? Still a newbie so any help / advice really appreciated. Also, I have read a lot about cheato / refigirums - is that something I will be able to set up in the sump?

-Do you plan on getting "live rock" or dry rock?
That makes a difference with cycling vs curing.
-Also, as far as substrate do you plan on using any?
This makes a difference as well I order to establish new life.
-IMO, I would take it slow, ensure all the new stuff is cycled and bacteria has been established. It shouldn't take long if you introduce rock and substrate from your current tank.
-The last thing you want to do is have a spike in ammonia and lose what you already have.
Hope that helped.

Thanks - I will buy live rock - I currently have sand substrate. Should I put new live rock in and new sand and then when cycled add my old sand and old live rock? I can't add my existing sand and rock to start with or my current fish won't have anything. Trouble with that is - I have a goby so need to put my rock in before my sand?

I would set the new tank up with sand from the old tank, mix it all together in the saltwater. Then, I would add new LR (cure it first), and put rock with no coral on it from other tank. Wait a few days and test to see what the levels are. Add bacteria if needed, then slowly add more. Add some coral slowly and pieces you can afford to lose. If all is good add the rest. And add fish too. One or two at a time.
