I have had my tank up for 5 months now. Everything was great until about the 3 month when I began to get -what I thought was- a diatom outbreak. I tried to let it take it's course, but it's still there. Now, I'm fighting it. I have tried 72 hrs no lights, putting media in my canister filter for phosphate, and increasing my clean up crew. I have been using RO/DI water from my LFS. My phosphate is down, but I am still seeing this algae! Help me out! Maybe it's not diatom.

Side note- In the middle of this, I added more cured live rock--Now, I am thinking that the live rock wasn't cured properly from my LFS. It's very difficult for me to do it at home, since I am in an apartment.

What else could I do?

Nitrates-0
ammonia-0
ph-8.2
phosphates >.25
nitrites-0

Running a eheim canister 2213 filter while building sump and refuge. Marine orbit led lights. 1600 gph in circulation pumps-- thought i would increase due to algae--normally running 800.

To me, looks like a diatom bloom. Your tank is still relatively young, I would probably put money on diatoms. Let it ride for a bit and see if it gets worse or better...

What all is in the tank?

I have about 10 zig zag periwinkles, 3 turbo snails, 40 dwarf ceriths, 19 nassarises, 20 florida ceriths, 17 verities ( I only know this because i just ordered from reef cleaners) and I have a 6 line and diamond goby.
