Help with this.

So the other day I cleaned off my star polyps because what appeared to be diatoms were growing on it. Now it won’t open up and the diatoms are growing back on it. What can I do?

My guess would be it’s not diatoms. Most algaes and such won’t grow on healthy coral flesh.
