Hey R2R so i have wanted to build a stand from Tslot for many years.

now I am gonna do it...for a NANO tank is a peninsula 24"L x14 3/16"w and I will build the stand 25" high as it will be a couch side tank ;)

I will be using 1x1 T slot or 10 series with a 6mm notch.
and will be using anchor fasteners that are factory counterbored

Question: I have is I want the the supporting vertical post to rest on the top and bottom "frame or box" not sure If I need 2 anchor fasteners on the bottom each side and 2 on the top = 4 per leg , or can I just use 2 per leg ( 1 top 1 bottom ) for the supports?

from my limiting understand is that anchor fasteners are the go to for weight bearing support.

also any suggestion for the "best" hardware to attach a top sheet of plywood or HDPE sheet for the rimless tank to sit on.

keep in mind this is for a sub 20 gal nano around 200#

I’m sure not allot of folks mess with t-slot / 80-20. I would use 4 hole inside gussets in the corners. The price difference is minimal and the level of strength is high. Well worth it.

@AZMSGT that was my original plan but my understanding in the anchors are the strongest way to join T slot at 90 angle.

here is a quote from T nuts
"These Anchor Fasteners are the strongest way to connect two 10 or 25 Series T-Slotted extrusions together at 90°."

I had to look up what you are referring to regarding anchors. I would still add the gussets.. but I over engineer everything.

How ever you trim it out there are many options.

yes tons of options for the trimming. I am excited for the stand I have always want a T slot stand not that it's a nano I can afford it...haha
