Hello All,

I bought a used setup that I've since modified for reef equipment and due to size constraints, I've had to modify it and it's left me with a bit of predicament regarding the skimmer.

I've had to set it up with the skimmer in a section on the end being fed by the open channel of a beananimal drain which, of course, has minimal flow. The middle section will have the siphon channel plumbed into a Clarisea SK-5000, dual return pumps and a pump for the reactor manifold.

The reactors will feed the refugium and then dump back over into the middle with the return pumps.

My question is, should I pinch back the siphon to allow more flow into the skimmer section at the cost of more noise or is the small, constant flow sufficient to allow the skimmer to function?

Thanks!

My setup:

165 gallon DT
55 gallon sump
Clarisea SK-5000 (Modified for 1.5" PVC)
1.5" beananimal drain
2x 1" return line
2x Jebao DCP-8000 return pumps
Bubble Magus Curve 9 skimmer
Jebao DC-3000 manifold/fuge pump

Please don't mind the mess, I'm currently leak testing!
