I am stuck at 6.3 -6.4. I currently have no fish in my 30. I am running sulfur, will adding fish back to my tank boost the PH back up? I read that I need ammonia break down will cause the PH to rise.

What are you using to measure PH? What salinity is your saltwater mixed to?
Welcome to R2R by the way :)

I was reading somewhere that Sulphur denitrators can affect ph and alk and that aragonite media is used to help begged these effect to a certain extent but that you will generally have to continually dose alk which will raise ph but not calcium

Thank you for the hospitality. Using IO salt at .25. I have no zero nurtirnets at the moment. planning on unloading about 20-25 clown fish's in a month. But my water is to acidic.

I have 10 clowns in QT. I am stuck with this dellemia.

What test kit are you using to determine your PH?

What is your alk level? You probably almost certainly need to dose. If you increase your alk you will increase your ph they are directionally proportional. I dose equal parts of alk and cal but in your case you will dose more alk than cal

Anyone need

Alk is 9.4. Sulphur is 8.3 or so. Because the water is to acidic is already high. That's why I am trying to avoid dosing alk for PH.

I agree with @Crabs McJones , I would get another test kit and test, Ph that low is unlikely. I have only heard on PH that low in a calcium reactor in which you are adding C02 to lower the PH.

Anyone need some sea lettuce? you have to clean it however. I am in the hood of oakland.
