Help with what material to use for stand skin

Hello,

I am looking for some thoughts on what to use to skin my stand. Let me explain my goals. I will use Z brackets to hang the skin on the frame. I want to be able to completely remove the boards and not have any hinges. I want a modern sleek look and I love the Red Sea Reefer stands. Ideally I would have 3 boards that look like the material used in those red sea reefer stands. I just dont know what that is. What are your thoughts?

I used tongue and groove bamboo flooring. I had several boxes left over from my attic renovation so I used it.
If you don't like the color, you can sand and paint any color you want

I thought about MDF board because I can get that super smooth. I just dont know if its the best choice for its obvious weakness to water.

Go to a lumberyard, they have high grade plywood with different veneers.
You'll pay a pretty penny but you can find that in a good lumberyard

If you're looking for a composite material, Home depot has man made material, but that is expensive

Big box lumber yards also have sheets of PVC that might work. I think in the DIY forum someone attached “doors” with magnets instead of hinges So they could be fully removed.

Interesting. Ill look into that.

I was planning on using Z clips.
