This “colony I’ve had for about 3 months with no issues, it actually sprouted a head earlier last week. But the past 2-3 day the largest head has been opening only slightly. As seen pictured there are some white dots on it. I would love some input or any knowledge on what it could be or what I need to do to help it.

hi dip em poss zoa eating nudi and eggs

As they are on a frag and easy to remove, take them out and carefully inspect the plug and under the plug. Check for spiral eggs, worms, copepods and anything of that sort. If all are absent give them an iodine dip and a quick coral dip just in case. Also place them in a different spot could be flow or light related.

Have you changed any parameters lately?

I had this issue with my Miami Vice Zoas, turns out they needed higher flow. You might need to put some more flow on them. From the photos it is hard to tell if you have any pests. Are any of your other zoas doing the same if you have any?

No just the 1 polyp

I have a video but have always had issues posting them from iphone

how bout full tank pic

Your calcium is really low if you have LPS or SPS corals but besides that they seem fine your phosphates are a bit high but I don't know if they're high enough to annoy zoas

NICE

Anyway

you can elaborate more? I have never dipped before. New to this whole reef scene. Sorry
ALWAYS Dip! lol Coral RX is great. Get some. you can also take that zoa frag and get some Lugols solution like Kent or Brightwell and add 1 drop on the frag. If it has zoa pox it will help. I really think it might be a flow issue. Try moving it or adjusting your flow.

hi yes lugols,rx ,freshwater will only kill the nudi's not sure about the pox definatly see the spots

You could also try moving them around different light intensity and flow. Sometimes that can make them open up more if its not pests related

Zoanthid Pox. Tis the time of year.
Hey jumping into this conversation. I too have never heard of Zoa Pox but I’m still learning as well. I read that API Furan 2 is a good dip to use for this purpose. Can y’all share your experience with this product or others for Zoa Pox?
Thanks
