Hey guys,

I have been fighting cyano now for months and losing corals at the same time. Every coral i lost looked to be eaten but I never seen them. Tonight I was in the process of doing my weekly water change and picked up a mushroom i had on the sand bed and shook the sand off and thats when I noticed a crap load of white stringy looking worms that seem to be eating my shroom. Does anyone know what type of worm this is and how the heck to get rid of it. As stated above, I have been trying my hardest to get rid of a cyano issue for 5 months now. po4 is always at .04 while my nitrates have risen recently to a 1.5 ppm. pH is usually a bit low at 8.0 to 79 alk at 8dkh calcium 440 & mag at 1280. System is 3 years old and I have a 93 gallon RR frameless marineland cube just waiting on sump now I don't think I want to transfer my live rock now. Really is difficult to get excited for my new build when I have so many issues with this 55. I have 2 mp10's that seem alright maybe more flow is needed I don't know. Lighting is 2 Kessil A150 sky blues. Have new lighting (Ocean Revive) leds for new tank. If you have had some experience with these worms or whatever they are I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to rid these creatures and any advice on Cyano removal because I am not getting anywhere it seems. Images below are worms and pics of cyano. Thanks

Those are the coral's own mesenterial filaments; coral guts. They're used in feeding and/or defense.

It's common to happen when you feed or do water changes. Sometimes it can be pretty long too. Give it 30 min and it will be back to normal most times.
