Hi everyone so I am going to be purchasing a new aquarium soon for an upgrade my choice was between 180cm or 200cm in length. The good news is a shop that I know well has an Evergrow IT5012 second hand so half the price. He assures me that the Evergrow light at 48inches will be fine for an aquarium up to 180cm in length. I just need people's opinions, pictures and advice, will that be enough light for 180cm I know its a good quality light. Thanks hope to hear from you soon amd also if its fine how high do I need to elevate it from the water for that size aquarium.

180 CM is about 70 inches, so that light will leave some shadowing in your tank, depending on your rock work. Par will be reduced on the sides, if the light is mounted center of the tank.

Being as that light is almost the same as a reefbreeders photon v2, which is recommended for a 60" (127 cm) tank.

If you are running lower light corals on the sides or it is open space, it can work just fine. Just need to place corals accordingly.
