Great, well I say if you've done all of the above and those yellow dots are still there then it's probably not a pest at all. Not sure what it is but have you ran your finger across them ? Do they feel hard like a tube worm structure or soft like a sponge ? It could be a Vernetid snails or tune worms.
Have you tried dipping the coral in some kind of coral dip to see if those things fall off ? Maybe get a tooth brush and brush them off. Not sure what they can be

I know every reef junkie worst nightmare is a pest that can crash a tank.Yes vette is correct, I've seen other similar pictures and it has been identified as a sponge.
I agree, I constantly spend hours a week looking closely at my tank making sure I don't see something out of the ordinary. It can be stressful sometimes lolI know every reef junkie worst nightmare is a pest that can crash a tank.
Thanks for the help I’m still in my first year with the hobby. And plan on running a lps tank with and Zoanthids Guardian. Do you have any tips? And how can I get my Aussie Lord to extend more?I agree, I constantly spend hours a week looking closely at my tank making sure I don't see something out of the ordinary. That's great to hear keep it up !! Lps and softies are not as demanding as sps but still as long as your parameters are stable most importantly Alkalinity, that will keep your corals happy. Try to keep nitrates between 5-20ppm. In my experience aussie lords open up and extend when you have low flow. For your tank if your not keeping sps I would turn down the flow but remember flow is key. You don't want a tank with no water flow. Just keep it minimum so your corals will comfortably extend. Feed your corals but don't over feed. I feed my acans once a week. I would spot feed them so you minimize over polluting the tank with un necessary phosphate or nitrates. Thanks for the help I’m still in my first year with the hobby.
