I found my yellow tang stuck to my MP40. I turned it off and he laid down on his side on the bottom of the tank. So I'm not sure if being stuck is a cause or effect. He actually seems skinny to me. Does he look diseased? What can I do?

hate to say but this fish is extremely weak, extremely skinny and moribund and it is Rare I see they recover from this state. I can encourage to add an air stone but there is no additive or medication I can recommend to perk it up.
This is obviously progressive and not sudden.
Curious as to what you were feeding it?

PE mysis pellets, frozen mysis, and seaweed extreme. So he is skinny then. I also have a blue tang and he's fat. Dang I never noticed that he was skinny.

Healthy, strong fish do not get stuck on powerheads. So it’s an effect, not a cause. I’m sorry about your fish. Maybe if you put it in a small tank and direct feed it he will stand a chance ?

He is bone skinny though. :-(

Yeah I moved him over to my QT. I put some seaweed extreme in there. Maybe I'll throw in some seaweed strips as well.

You might have more success with frozen food, with a little garlic if you can. Feed from a pipette, close to his mouth. Try often, every hour if you have to.

He’s too weak to eat on his own.

Ok thanks for the advice.

I got him from biota about 1.5 years ago.
I usually try not to be judgmental and I apologize if I am doing so now but if you have had this fish for 1.5 years you may want to feed more or spend more time watching when you do feed to make sure everyone is getting their share. If it doesn't have parasites or another issue causing it to be so thin the poor thing looks like it has been starved.

Totally my fault. My problem is that all my other fish is growing too much so I never noticed this one getting skinny. I actually thought I was overfeeding. I've only been reefing a little over 2 years.

He will likely not eat at this point.

Some foods you want to feed are:
LRS herbivore diet
Formula 2 flake and frozen
TDO Pellets
small plankton
Hikari Marine cuisine
Ocean nutrition veggie diet
spirulina brine shrimp
mysis shrimp
Prime reef
Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract

Add selcon vitamins to foods occasionally

Sometimes one fish can be bullied or not fast enough to get food etc and intervention on your part may be required. It may not have even starved, there could be some other underlying issues that aren't obvious causing it to be so thin. I like to sit and watch when I feed but I'm retired so I have more time than many others do.
