I have lost the battle. Everything I try doesn't work. Joes juice, lemon juice, aptasia wand. I have been overrun by these pests and have finally threw in the towel.

So how do I go about getting rid of them? Tank is active, so just removing the rock isn't a option. Tank is a predator tank, so shrimp aren't a option...nor is leaving your hand in there for to long. So how can I eradicate them???

iS aptasia considered bad if its a FOWLR tank ? i've never had an aptasia issue but i would be cliping those big ones off one by one and net them to trash them. imo if i had a predator tank i wouldnt even care lol . i do notice the mushrooms but they still look good

i thnk i've heard of a certain breed of file fish that eats aptasia too

I don't think they are bad in a fowlr, but not what I would like. I had a filefish once that just decimated aptasia. Only problem was after they were gone he proceeded to decimate my inimicus as well. He didn't last long after that. 20 dollar fish almost killed a 150 dollar fish by picking. Won't do that again.

Sorry but I think you will have to remove that rock
to ever get rid of that many. Redsea aiptasia x works well but wow you have so many.

And you only see the rock! They are growing on the tank glass, overflow, powerheads, your name it they are there.

My local LFS would let you put a "deposit" on the file fish, and you would have to bring it back once it's done it's deeds. but i don't know much other than that....and i can't blame ya if you had that experience lol

Wow that crazy I think I would ditch the rock remove all others and start over . My rock is over 15 years old and I still keep getting pests. I started another tank and I am using real reef rock which has no pest and is cheaper than live rock.

You need either a Matted Filefish or a CopperBand Butterfly fish, they will make short work of those. They will be gone in no time.

Filefish is a no no, copper band I never seem to get to live through QT.

As for kalk paste, that works if I can keep my hands in the tank long enough.

List of fish...red fuzzy lion, yellow fuzzy lion, inimicus, plumieri, and barbarei. Fuzzies think they are my friends and swim to me any time I am anywhere near the tank, and the inimcus likes to take off like a dart any time I remove the egg crate from the top.
