IME most newly added fish do not eat well at first. I wonder if you had a ammonia spike or other parameter. You said your tank is newly cycled can you give more details? How long? How you cycled. Most predator fish such as lionfish produce a lot of waste and your biological filtration may not have been able to handle it plus the addition of the clownfish. I have no exp with lionfish though so don't know how sensitive they are. Clownfish are fairly resilient. Also do you QT? You could very well have introduced something into your tank when you added the clownfish. Always QT new fish before adding to your main tank. Also need more details of the lionfish death. Symptoms, behavior, any noticeable issues with the fish. Need more info to help you.

Lionfish, especially fuzzys, are generally pretty hardy. It's strange the day after he started feeding he died. Was he acting strange or have any weird markings beforehand?
I would look into a chemistry or disease related issue like saltyphish said.
