420 to 450 is a happy place to be. Remember chasing numbers will only drive you crazy, just try to stay within range. Your Alk is the one that you would like to keep as steady as possible. The more intervals I dose the steadier my system has been.

Ok guys, I've been using pro bio s and np pro for About the last month. I added life bio fill the beginning of last week.... why are my nitrates still so high? They haven't budged below 20 at all and my test tonight is still showing around 20.

Take looks good and there's no algea, then leave it alone. I have read where people have had nitrates up around 50 or higher with no algae. Give it a little more time, in your nitrates will come down.

As @120reefkeeper stated bring up your alk slowly. Once your alk is at your desired number then I would dose 2+ to maintain the alk, and dose 1+3+ also at the same amount as the alk.

I had to add some new saltwater...but not even 5 gallons. Maybe 1 gallon, and it took mag from like 1480 to over 1600....so I should wait till my mag comes down to where? I keep my alk usually at 7.8 how to remove nitrates though without water change

I got the privaledge to talk to twilliard on the phone about a week ago! It was nice to chat with him again. He is so busy doing school and some health issues. But he is hanging in there
