I had a problem w/ Ich. I set up a hospital tank for the fish I have.left and am going to treat them there. That left my tank fallow which will get rid of the parasites that cause ich if I leave it long enough. How long is long enough and how do I feed the Ricordia mushroom, three zooanthids, trumpet coral and hammer coral that are left in the tank?

Moving over to the disease forum for better response, but the fallow period is 76 days for ich.
X2. You'll need to make sure you treat the remaining fish in copper or CP properly to ensure you don't add it back in after your fallow period.

TTM and hyposalinoty don't address all strains of ich, and ignore velvet altogether which is very common and often mistaken for ich. Really bad cases of ich are often velvet.

What are your treatment plans!

Also, sorry for your losses.

Thanks. I plan to treat for ich with copramine. And then they are going into a brand new tank so they will get the full treatment and then be watched in the hospital tank for a few weeks. If they survive that is. They are the Damsels that started the first tank and one looks pretty bad after having been moved. He has lost all his color. He, however, is the first to venture out of hiding since.being captured and relocated. He came out and started exploring after.only a few hours while the other one has remained hidden.

damsels are pretty tuff. 76 days fallow and copper treatment should get them back in shape. You really don't have to worry about feeding those corals. Just keep an eye on nutrients in the tank while it's fallow. You can broadcast feed once or twice a week to keep nutrients up enough to keep your corals happy.
