Green hair algae bloom! How olds your tank? If your tanks big enough get a tang. They will eat that like crazy. You can also hand pull it out. How long are your lights on

What do you have for a clean up crew? I'd get some turbo snails and an urchin. I'd also reduce feeding and up your water change frequency / percentage until you get that beaten down.

What are your tank parameters? Your nitrates and phosphate levels and what test kits do you use? You're going to need to scrub the Rocks as mentioned but I would also once you're finished with that dip them in a hydrogen peroxide and Rodi solution provided there's no coral on them. It's one bottle of hydrogen peroxide to a 5 gallon bucket. Dip them no less than eight hours and don't do them all at one time do a few of them every 3 to 4 days until you finish with all of them. When you're done dipping rinse them really well in Rodi water and place them back in the tank. You're going to see a nutrient spike in nitrates and po4 because your hair algae will no longer be taking it up so you will need to be doing several water changes or larger ones. Lower your light levels or time that they are on and lower your feeding.

Its a 14 gallon, so its not supposed to be there?

No but every tank goes through what we call the Uglies at some point in the beginning. And your tank is too small for a Tang. Please do not put a Tang in that tank. Do you like I suggested with a hydrogen peroxide and Rodi mix. It will be the fastest way to clean it up and make sure you beef up your clean up crew and do water changes.

Make sure the tank is on Rodi water, scrub and do manual removal, get more snails.
What are your parameters?

And Welcome to Reef2Reef!

That's going to be easy! we have a few good tricks.
Use the water that is from the ocean that you buy at the aquarium store, 4 gallon jugs already mixed, they say fom the ocean
