is this a problem not sure what is happening to sand

Looks like you ha e a lot of life in your sand bed. Means your tank is maturing nicely.
 
What about the different colours on the glass
 
It's part of you sand bed maturing, the different colors are more than likely bacteria which is good. I would take your finger or other small device and slightly move the sand, very top, until you stop seeing bubble percolate from the sand bed. Helps cut down on bad gasses. You'll more that likely start seeing all sorts of animals in your sand bed, don't be concerned unless their eating livestock:D
 
Good idea on stirring the sand bed when it’s new to help with gas exchange. Adding nasirius snails and other sand siffters will do the work for you!
