I want to build my own lighting for my saltwater tank and I want to use 250 1 watt LEDs but I don't know how to power them all

Hey EDC - most of the DIY led builds use the larger 3-5 watt LED on "stars" which are largely the same LED's used in the commercial fixtures. You can check out RapidLED.com, where I've purchased many LED's and components for my builds. They are really helpful and responsive if you email them, and have a good FAQ page regarding some of the technical aspects of powering LEDs. Even if you still go with the 1 watt LEDs, their info about forward voltage calculations, which drivers to use, etc. might be useful. Essentially specific LED's have specs you must adhere to (how much voltage they draw, max current -milli-amps- so you don't blow them out, etc.) when choosing a driver and wiring them up...
