Problem is the bottom of it has encrusted onto the rock it’s on! What causes this? And can I prevent it in the future?

What causes it to encrust on the stone .. flow causes this , depending on flow corals will grow up and out or spread and encrust ! .. but this is good .. if you break it of too frag it the piece that is left on the rock will continue too grow .. thus your first frag ! Plus what you can save from the piece you broke off .

Sorry I meant what causes the stn/rtn?
That could be many things .. to high nitrates .. too low nitrates .. alk swing .. and also as others have mentioned .. could have been eaten or stung ..

I tore down a tank 2 weeks ago and added some of the live rock I had in that tank to this one. Actually, quite a bit 30 lbs probably! Besides that no changes!

Seems like there could be two things that can cause this. Adding 30 pounds of rock could cause a small cycle if there is dead matter on them. Also if your Phosphates are actually 0 the sps are starving. Are you running gfo?

I’m running phosguard in a reactor. Should I pull it? Or could I be using too much? The rock I added was very live and came from one well Established tank to another.

I’ve been wandering lately if I should stop running the phosguard because I also have chaeto and dragons Breath in my sump that grows like crazy. I have to harvest the chaeto every week and the dB every 2 weeks.

The only algae I see in my tank lately is getting the greenish film stuff on the glass and I’ve been having to mag float it daily instead of every 3 or 4 days.

It looks like something is munching on it to me. The offending critter could have hitchhiked on the live rock you just added. That's one of the perils/risks of adding live rock, you never know what is hiding in it.

If all of your other corals look good, nutrients are probably ok.
