I have received volunteered to take care of a tank at my college in the marine bio lab, it is full of corals and a couple of fish

It has also been overtaken by purple/red algae, it is a system of 3 tanks that are all connected, however my tank is the only one with a major algae issue

Please help with any tips! Anything will help! Thanks

Scrape glass; take out egg crate and dip in bleach and then hydrogen peroxide; turn up powerheads if able and toothbrush rocks; wait awhile and then change filter socks if able. If no power heads, pull out rock and clean with toothbrush using peroxide. Last treatment would be the sand. You could siphon it out and clean it and then replace it. Hope this helps. Cheers!
