I’m getting a 50 gallon and I am planning on making it a saltwater, I want to have 2-3 fire gobys, 2 clownfish, and a powder blue tang. Will this be a big enough tank? I’m planning on adding a giant clam aswell to help. Any tips? Are these good together?

I would strongly advise against the powder blue tang in a 50 gallon.
This is a fish that could potentially reach lengths of 9" fully grown and requires a minimum of a 125 gallon tank. The other fish look good though. #WelcometoR2R

Welcome! I'd also only get one of the firefish, but you could do two if you are able to get a bonded pair.

Clams have some very specific requirements that are different from other reef tank inhabitants. I'd recommend reading as much as possible (and letting the tank settle well) before you add one to the tank. Smaller specimens are usually more sensitive than larger clams, so starting with a 3-4" clam is going to be better than a 1-2". Read as much as you can; this is a good place to start:

Good luck! :)

Agree abt PBT. Way to small for one of them. I feel a little guilty of having my Yellow Tang in a 90. But she’s very healthy and seems content.
Not sure why, but I’ve heard PBT are Ich magnets too. Good luck and welcome to the Reef! You are going to love salt water

Welcome to reef2reef! Good solid advise on the powder blue and clam^.

I too have always wanted a powder blue, but even my system is pushing their limits for room and overall health. Maybe someday I'll upgrade to a larger tank!

Here's some excellent info on clams:

Once again, welcome and any questions feel free to ask!

+1 and as above "I'd also only get one of the firefish"
Tangs and some other fish have very thin slime coats. Under stress their immune system become weak. If you have any disease in your tank they can quickly become infected.
