My male Manderian goby is starting to lose color oh his front pectoral fins. He eats all the time and no other tank mate are having the same prpblem.

He eats live copiepods in the tank during the day and soaked brine and mysis when I feed the tank at night

I've had him for about a two months and have just noticed it over the last week or so

Are you adding supplementary copepods?

I will move this to the Disease Forum for review. We can always move it back.

:-)

I just added 22k pods about two weeks ago and see them all over the glass. I do add new every month or two depending on what I see on the glass.

Does the mandarin look completely pale first thing in the morning? Or is this only happening with his pectoral fins?

Although I usually don't see him first thing in the morning as I leave my house for work well before the lights kick on

Mandarins will look almost white at night and early in the morning. They sleep in a protective cocoon (similar to some wrasses) - which is actually their slime/mucous coat. They will also release their slime coat when stressed.

However, if only the fins are white and remain white all day long, then I would suspect a bacterial infection is to blame: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/bacterial-infections.191511/
