i had a reef tank running and everything died and got rid off the tank I kept the rock outside. I’ve got a new tank 4 mounts ago and I put the rock in with out thinking fish are alive and well in the tank. My question is will the rock be cured now

First off:
Welcome to Reef 2 Reef!!

Did you "cycle" your new tank with ammonia / while your old rock was in your new tank?

So I understand this, you started the tank 4 months ago with the rock from your old system, and added fish not knowing if the tank was cycled or if the rock was cured?

Ye strays right buddy. Whould it of done it’s cycle and cured

I want to add coral will it be ok
No

Not if your reef has not been cycled.

You need to cycle a reef the right way and use good test kits to see where you ammonia / nitrites and nitrates stand.

If it's not cycled then you will lose everything and you will want to quit the hobby.

Do you know how to cycle a tank?

I don’t bud. Can I do it while my fish are in the tank
What size tank and what kind of fish. Fish in cycle is not as widely practiced as it used yo be.

I’ve got an angel fish and one damsel I used live sand it said no cycle I’m gutted now. How do I cycle my tank. My fish have survived 4 mounts do I have to cycle it
I'm not understanding your posts. Your original post said you got rid of a tank but kept the rock outside, four months ago you started up a tank and added the rock will your fish be ok. Are you saying you had the fish first for four months and just now added the rock?

If your old rock has been in there
the entire time (4 months / with the fish), you may have cycled.

I'd test your ammonia and nitrites and see if they read zero, if they do, then you can test for nitrates.

If you only detect nitrates, then your nitrogen cycle (bacteria) is at work.

You have to test and take things real slow.

Reefing is about having-patients and stability.

Can you read the link that I posted for you?

Thank yo
