I'm not an expert but that looks like more than just cyano.

Looks like green hair algae mixed in as well.

Should i just cut my loses and remove the whole coral plug

You should move it anyway, those spread and should be on an island.
Those are runners reaching out.

It kinda looks like you have an aptasia in the the first pic maybe. If it’s stinging the coral, it could be the source of die off n cyano food.

It helps stop the build up of food and such. Blow it off and get rid of those alge strands and it’ll help.

IMO , the best flow for those you’ll see them just slightly wave or move

Hmm I’ve had them for a month or two and they just started this problem. I’ll adjust my flow a little and pick what i can off tomorrow afternoon!
