any ideas on the white root like on the zoa?

Looks like a white brittle star. Harmless but if you have 1, you have 100. A decorator shrimp will take care of them for you.

I had similar looking "roots" coming from under my GSP, most opinions were some kind of filter feeding worms. They never seemed to bother the GSP, and eventually went away as the mat grew.

not starfish. not worms. tried removing with a turkey baster.
wondering if anyone recognizes them as nudi eggs?

Nudis are generally swirls of eggs..so not likely

Yeah definitely not nudi eggs, maybe chondria or a cucumber?
Hopefully someone else can chime in!
