Hello everyone so today I went in to clean my tank and I noticed what looked like tentacles sticking out but then i thought maybe my starfish are in one of the rock chillin so I didn’t pay it attention. But then after cleaning and looking around the tank I say both of my starfish hiding under rocks and I saw their arms sticking out. So now I’m freaking out trying to figure out what this is and how it got in my tank. I don’t want to boil the rocks but will if I have to ‍♀️ Any ideas on how to get this out? I tried using some long tweezers and couldn’t get a good grip. Or should I even be concerned?

Aptasia?

Could be! I googled it and it does look like that. It’s just small and in a tight spot so I can’t get a clear view

I don't mean to be dramatic here but... Pull the whole rock it's on now. If it's Aiptasia or Majano the nightmare begins... If it's the only one in your tank...doubtful - but a possibility...you have a chance to save yourself by pulling out the rock now. Don't disturb the Aiptasia AT ALL when removing the rock. If you've already bugged it with tweezers, it may already be too late as the anemone may have reacted in self-defense and self-preservation by reproducing all over your tank. If that happened, you'll know in a few weeks.

It does look like Aiptasia to me...a small one, but Aiptasia nonetheless. Majano has short stubby tentacles and those in the picture look longer to me.

Okay I’m just going to remove the rick when I get home today

I have recently used a product called F Apstasia. It worked very well. It kills the creature and forms a seal and covers its hole. This is most likely a short term solution. Long term solutions for Apstasia are Bergidia Nudibrachs, or Peppermint Shrimp if you have no invert predators In your system ...
Fish wise, Matted File fish and Coperbands also eat Apstasia but come at risk to picking coral.

Thank you everyone for your help! I removed the rock last night and looked around my corals and the other rocks and I didn’t see anymore of it as of now. Fingers crossed it didn’t spread. I went to my local store and purchased some Aptasia X just in case. I’m also purchasing some peppermint shrimp so that can help just in case. I showed my local store the picture and they believe it is Aptasia as well.
