My tank all the sudden is having a nitrire problem it is .03
nitrates are 20
ammonia .03

everything else is in range.
I noticed when i came home my scoly receding pretty fast from what it looked like last night.
I did a %30 water change anything else that will help?

Not sure what would of caused the sudden spike. tank has been up and running for bout 6 months its a 225 gallon. have maybe 15 fish most small sized.

I added some sand that was cleaned in the sump and main display about 3 weeks ago. no changes since then

what is not making sense is I have a welso and cynarina are puffed up doin fine. usually my welso is the picky one.

Change your carbon or add some if you aren't running any currently to help with the immediate problem. I take it from your post you have accounted for all fish and cuc? When you say sand was cleaned, was it fresh sand that you rinsed or used sand?
