I have a 75 gallon tank that’s been running for around 2-3 months. I’ve been battling stuff for a few weeks now. I’m using RedSea coral pro salt, used dry rock with one live rock to seed dry rock, only like 30 lbs worth total, caribsealive argonite,, an ati dimmable 8x54 w T5 fixture running 4 blue plus 2 purple plus and 2 Coral plus. I have a coralife super skimmer 220 that’s running in addition to a 3 stage Aquatop cf300 canister filter. I have a liquagen 5 stage RODI unit for water top offs and water changes. I can’t test my parameters right this second (at work) but my wife just tested my salinity and that’s 34ppt where I usually keep it. I have attached pictures of the stuff that I’m battling trying to get rid of it. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would love to hear them. My lfs told me that I need vibrant.

Would need some pics with white lights on, and test parameters to help further.

2 to 3 month old tank with algae issues for the last couple weeks... Sounds like new tank uglies to me.

And I agree with @Hemmdog you need quite a bit more rock. The typical suggestion is 1Lb per gallon give or take a few pounds. 30Lbs in a 75G is no where near enough for proper biological filtration.

If you like the look of your aquascape and don't want to add anymore rock to it, then something along the lines of marinepure or siporwax(sp?) would take place of the rock. But you would still need a place to house it, and with no sump it would have to be in the display. Which at that point, you might as well add more rock.

Mate, what you have there is a new tank. Subject to any new info you have, situation normal. Now add patience and focus on critical water parameters. The biggest problem is trying to rush things and looking for quick fixes, there are very few in this hobby. Relax and enjoy the ride.....
