I noticed ich in my 125 gal. My tank is just a few months; guilty of being impatient I tossed my new fish in without a second of hesitation. I have two 10gal tanks and 1 20gal to use as quarantine tanks for the first few weeks...however I have a few questions I would love advice on.
Would copper medications be safe(ish) for my fish. I have 3tangs, marine beta, trigger a wrasse and goby. The reason I'll be setting up 3 quarantine tanks is because I don't want my tangs to fight each other during the 2months my tank will not be stocked. This leads me to my other question (s) this is an emergency set up I will be doing as soon as I finish work... ...
is it safe to fill my quarantine tanks with 1/3 or 1/2 of my display tank water and fill the rest with regular saltwater? Is it safe to use all new saltwater .. I do have hang on the back filters for 2 of the tanks ... How often should the water changes be done..

My idea was to house my goby, and marine beta in one with a Tang- another will house my maroon clown, Tang and trigger, Tang and wrasse in the last.

You can run all new water with dechlorinator and preferably RO water. Also have some type of filter withOut carbon running offering as much oxygen as you can and dose copper at 75%.

Was going to toss an air stone in these as well. I tossed the carbon filters out and was going to replace with regular filter pads. Unfortunately I don't have any powerheads... I'm hoping the airsrone and hanging filters are enough for oxygen.

Thanks vette- you are the real MVP

I'm very new to the hobby but have been doing a lot of reviewing on R2R for QT setup recently and found these post very helpful.
