So my tank has been doing great so far. I bought the Hanna Checkers for alkalinity phosphate and calcium. My calcium levels are 465 to 4 8 0, 7.6 to 7.8 dkh, .103 ppm phosphate. When I first tested it the dkh was 8.0 calcium was like 4 3 0 and phosphate 46 PPM. So I've noticed the calcium has gone up alkalinity has gone down and the phosphate is increasing. I have Fusion 2 part system Fusion 1 and Fusion 2 I'm wondering if I can just use the fusion 2 to raise the alkalinity without using the Fusion 1for the calcium to level it out since I dont need more calcium. It says it's a two-part system so can I just use one at a time. I used the seachem calculator to tell me how much of part 2 I should add to bring the dkh up to 8. It says to put 3.8 caps can I just put that in there to raise the dkh and not mess with the calcium? And how can I lower the phosphates even though it says online that.1 is okay cause it keeps going up steadily over a few week period. The tank is 55 gal and I do a 12 gallon water change at least every two weeks. I have 3 Coral in the tank, fish 1 pajama cardinal 1 frostbite clownfish 1 regular clownfish 1 fire shrimp 1 coral beauty 2 bengaii Cardinals a small yellow fish but I can't remember the name 2 small gobies a handful of Turbo snails and a handful of trochus snails .Any help please on what to do ?

hi yes exactly that, add alk only, cal when needed,do go crazy chasing numbers all are in acceptable range

Your parameter looks great. Only add ALK, Ca if needed. No need to chase the numbers. Keep it in stable range. Currently I'm keep mine as 7.6 dKH, 400 Ca, 24 Phosphate

Note that despite Seachem's claim, Reef Fusion 1 and 2 are not properly balanced for 1:1 dosing like many two parts are. So do not assume you should dose it 1:1.

What do you mean by that I'm confused ? I haven't dose that yet I'm going to wait till after I do my water change tonight. Do you mean don't dose them separately.

He means they are not balanced. Meaning they should not be dosed in a 1:1 ratio. You can just dose fusion 1 to raise your ALK without adding any part 2.

How can I get rid of the brown alge is the low alk causing it .Should I suck it up ?

That's the main question I had because sea. does say to use both but I don't need calcium to go up.Its a 2 part system so iam glad I can use them separate. I'm going to put 3.8 capfuls in. The calculator they have online tell me to put the volume of water 55 gallons the dkh which is 7.6 and it came up with a 3.8 to bring it back up to 8 dkh

I'm having a lot of green algae cover my rock in the back wall on the front wall I've cleaned the front glass and I'm having the brown algae on the bottom. Is the Green in the brown algae something I need to maintain to keep clean. Should I suck out the brown algae when I do my water change? And clean the back wall with my magnetic scraper? Or is it good for the turbo snails to eat cuz they don't seem like they're keeping up. Ever since my parameters dropped a little bit it seems like everything is a little sluggish. The frogspawn coral Coral became a little darker. There's also one white spot on one of my fish and his eyes are cloudy. I am hoping it's not ick I don't think it is I think maybe the coral beauty is picking on him it kind of looks like a piece of slime not a white spot and there's only one.

hi check phos level, side note i have always dump doser:rolleyes:but alk /when needed never both on same day;)just watch ph monitor to give me idea on kh,test sometimes ,after 3 decades get a feel for it:)
