I have been cycling my tank for 37 days all parameters are good with home tests and when I took it to petco the test they ran said everything was great I bought one clowbfish and 3 snails after drip acclimating for 2 hours I put the clown fully into the tank and instantly he swims frantically around and dies within a minute flat what am I doin wrong

Wow that's certainly unusual. Something is definitely off. What's your water temperature?

Maybe the petco tests were faulty. Petco is not known to reefers as a good store

The only thing I could think of is temperature difference. If you don’t put a heater in the container your dripping into then the container outside the tank will have to opportunity to get closer to whatever the room temp is at the time which could be drastically different then the tank depending on location and time of year.

clowns are hearty, but a freak out ,shock is where i would be leaning, after drip acclimation, salinity, not massive temp difference, loose elec in tank would not affect clown, kinda sounds like a "heart attack"?

I drip acclimated with the bag in the tank water clipped to the side of the tank so temperature would remain constant

Hmm then like dom said maybe stray voltage? Or maybe heavy metals? I don’t know if heavy metals would cause that tho… what’s your salinity

You said you also used home test kits, and the levels were 'good' right? Do you have any numbers? What was the salinity?
