Having some issues with this tank and I’m getting frustrated a couple of months ago I tried reef foods, before that I never really fed anything except the fish after usin the roosa my P04 want up to 0.14-0.16 and I saw some tips on a couple of acros so I did a water change which didn’t do a lot so I after another still kinda high 0.12 normally 0.4-0.6 so I ran some gfo less than the suggested amount and after 2-3 days it made things worse 1 stylophora started loosing tissue and now is toast the 2 acros tips are bad not sure if it’s algae or tissue loss but I stopped the gfo and now I’m kinda stuck as to next step not sure about the 2 acros making it but I don’t want to just say oh well that’s SPS… current parameters are good and have been stable except P04 still at 0.12 alk is 7.8 cal 430 mag 1400 anyone have any suggestions??

Im thinking the reef foods were not what your corals wanted. I would go back to not using them Do some 10% weekly water changes. Corals do not like fast changes. Maybe the GFO worked to fast for them to adapt.

Most coral simple need good light and water flow which generate the zooxanthellae they need for color and energy. GFO can quickly strip nutrients and cause chemical changes and best used Very Sparingly. Some coral foods especially powdered type will raise nitrates, phosphates or both,
