I bought a black edge occy from petco about a month back. It was the only one they had in stock, and have yet to get any others with the coloration that I like. Earlier this week they got a shipment in, and I bought a second. I added the new addition to the tank and there has been aggression between the two ever sense. They are almost exactly the same size: >2 inches : and very similar in color. They are in a 40 breeder with lots of swimming space, and a very nice size duncan colony that both seem to enjoy hosting. Is there any hope that these two will eventually get along, and possibly pair up, or is it a lost cause? Any help would be great. Thanks.

They are each over 2 inches? I am not familiar with "occy" but I am assuming you mean clowns. I would see if you can isolate the original one or turn the lights off for a day or two. The one that has been in there has gotten used to not sharing the tank. Now the other is in its space. Just my thought.

They are less than 2 inches long, and yes, ocellaris clown fish. I will try turning the lights out for two days, as I am having a slight cyano outbreak, so I may be able to kill two birds with one stone so to speak. Thanks for the advice, lets keep the hints and tips coming!

They will fight for weeks before the bigger one turns female and they pair up, you should be fine. Also, cyano is more bacterial, your best bet is hydrogen peroxide, 1ml for every ten gallons. Works like a charm.

Tell me more about this hydrogen peroxide thing.... Anything special that needs to be done? I'm interested in this
