Hey, Ive been dealing with some issues in my tank. I pulled two clowns out about two weeks ago because they were acting lethargic and turning white with mucus. Gave them a FW dip and transferred over to a qt tank and started treating with Metroplex in the food and water of the QT since it's the only type of medicine I have for it. I also was using the same food for the fish in my DT for precautions they might have it. One didn't make, but the other is doing good. Ive been keeping an eye on them but two of my hippo tangs started getting white and blackish spots all over. Im currently setting up another QT getting ready to switch the rest of my fish to it to treat. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Clowns likely have brooklynella which a typical disease they get and requires treatment in a separate quarantine setting using an initial 45 minute bath in quick cure or 36% formaldehyde solution and then treatment for at least 10 days
You can also go with ruby rally pro with initial 90 minute bath and treatment for 12 days
The longer you treat, the more effective the treatment
If you don’t have either on hand, a 5 min freshwater dip the same temperature as display tank will offer temporary relief from mucus
On the tang- focus on water quality and diet as it has HLLE-

I think your going to need copper here. Looks to me like the black spots are black ich and the white scars or dots are the more common ich we see.

Just logged onto a larger screen and the hepatus also has velvet. You should or may experience the fish swimming in the path of water flow, rapid breathing, loss of appetite and lethargic behavior
Treatment will be coppersafe or other copper based medication for a full 30 days at 80.5 degrees at therapeutic level 2.25-2.5 monitored by a reliable copper test kit and no API brand either. Assure whichever medication you use, it says it treats Oodinum.
The display tank they’re in will have to go fishless (fallow) for 45-60 days at 81 degrees to assure parasites have exhausted their life cycle and died off

It treats velvet but will take a couple of days to start working

any methods on getting rid of HILLE? He had it from his previous owner. IT seems to be fading away though. I use frozen foods and flakes. I also do a 20% water change every week and do a complete clean down of all equipment in tank about every other week.

Generally water quality has an impact on the recovery as doesdiet. This fish is a herbivore and should be fed:

-Spirulina brine shrimp
- LRS Herbivore diet
- mysis shrimp
- small plankton
- Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract
- Hikari Marine cuisine
- Formula 2 flake and frozen
- Hikari veggie marine

Add selcon vitamins to the foods 2-3X per week and on alternating days, garlic extract for stamina and immunity health
