Okay so we started our tank July 9th.. we have a 30h... added Fuji live rock and let it go for a month.. end of August we got 2 blue green chromis another month 2 clowns few weeks after that 2 emerald crabs,2 turbo snails,2 Margarita snails... started battling pistol shrimp for killing the 2 chromis.. October out of now where brown diatoms got bad substrate turned dark and grungy ... the coolest clown fish one died... then a week later the 2nd died... the wrasse was only fish alive... and last week alage green dust onsides.. hair alage sprouting up...wrasse dies... 2 days ago seen what I thought were worms and it was cyano... so we treated it with Chem clean seeing we only had inverts and two hardy coral (Duncan and xenia) ... we have been doing weekly water changes 5 gallons one week and 7 gallons the following week... we've been testing with api every week since set up in July tests went up and down... ph 8.4 at highest..ammonia Avery small trace or zero.. nitrite always at zero and nitrate has never went passed 10ppm and is steady at zero... temperature is 78 degrees... we premix salt with power heads and heater for hours before the water changes... I'm not quitting the hobby as I really enjoy it but I need help... also we never use tap water never use soap on hands constantly rinsing... I do know that we never quarantined fish as our fish had zero spots injuries or problems... 3 lfs tested our water and said it's perfect... any tips suggestions or directions would be greatful... here is our set up minus the fish .also pic was taken just days ago

Also that big clam...also dead...behind it in the rock look like pistol shrimp nest and some oval shaped red and white striped bug or beetle in the rock with the shrimp

Did that clam die in the tank, or was it just a shell when you got it? If the clam died in the tank could have spiked ammonia a fair amount since it's only a 30g.

Sorry about the fish that past.
Lets start by the beginning.
Can you tell or post how you did your cycle?
Also some past test # are welcome to review.
What can you tell us know about your test results?
Ammonia
Nitrite
Phosphate
Nitrate
Temp
PH
What is your water source for new water?

He was alive and well he died in the tank he was devoured... that rock is filled with clam and barnicle... and our ammonia was tested 4 times twice a week by different fish stores and we barely had a trace of ammonia..they said our water is perfect... we have been following by the book and what owners of these beautiful fish places are saying...we are at a loss and broken hearted over these fish..they have such personality

We premixed salt filled tank ran protein and filter and power head using rodi...following day added agronite (July 10th) on the 16th when tank settled we went and purchased live Fuji rock and let it go until the 27th when lfs suggested 2 blue green chromis.. all of August at highest ph8.4. Ammonia .25 fixed with water change zero nitrite since start and nitrate for 3 days and fixed with water change.. end of August got two emerald crabs 2 turbos two margaritas and the life we seen coming off the live rock was amazing feather dusters Bobbitt worms clams sponge it was perfect and of Sept we were told 2 clown..we were picky and took hours picking 2 of them fell in love with them and everything was great middle of October crabs started having feast on fish..brown diatoms..then green alage..then cyano... and still lfs are saying water is perfect.. said it could be a parasite to go black out for 72 hours and dosed with Chem clean while doing so

We also only use rodi water as everyone says that tap is horrible... nothing but rodi goes in this tank and we also test our rodi water salinity is .24... and temp is 78... our power head is a fancy one that does different things and different speeds hook on back filter with bio balls but for a 60 gallon tank I believe..a hang on protein skimmer...

What a LFS quote on test is not my concern in most cases.
You need to know your own test results with reliable test kits as Redsea, Salifert or Hanna just to name three.
A decease is always possible as we always stress to quarantine fish for as long as two months.
What you think is cyano can possibly be also spirulina, it looks the same but you treat it differently.
Do a test as you get some of the red stuff out your tank put it in a cup with tank water and use two drops of Ho2o and mix.
The next day if the red color has changed or is gone we deal with cyano if not it's spirulina.

Okay next time I will know better... when we treated it looked like the slime was being singed like burnt hair.. any help I will take and advice will be used

Is it possible we are going thru our cycle after all these months.... like we had spikes in tests but that was in August and everything near zero since

great job keeping a log! Fantastic habit to get into!

1.24 is salinity.. they checked salinity and our hydrometer and was at 24.. we are measuring with measuring cups.. half cup 2.5 cups per 5 gallon using power head and thermometer while cleaning glass and substrate and what not.. we have great reef lighting I was told it's orbit reef

I'm still a bit confused about your salinity. Can you double check that it isn't 1.024? That would be a very reasonable number and equates to around 32ppt.
